Maxflex Clear Aligner & Retainer Sheets

Thermoforming sheet material for clear aligners, retainers & night guards

Maxflex thermoforming sheets are the raw material dental labs and aligner manufacturers use to fabricate clear aligners, retainers, night guards, and attachment templates. Each sheet is a precision-engineered disc designed to be heated and pressure-formed over a dental model. The range spans two material families — the monolayer MAX series and the multi-layer FLEX series — so labs can match sheet performance to the demands of each case.

Two sheet series, one selection guide

Maxflex sheets come in two construction types. The monolayer MAX series is built for strong, predictable force; the multi-layer FLEX series trades a little of that force for comfort and exceptional crack resistance.

MAX Series

Monolayer sheets

A classic single-layer sheet built for strong, predictable tooth movement. Available in a TPU grade (MAX Standard) for the highest initial force, and a heat-resistant copolyester grade (MAX Premium) that trades a little force for outstanding dimensional stability and easy trimming.

  • High initial force for efficient tooth movement
  • Excellent clarity and stain resistance
  • Dependable crack and abrasion resistance
  • For aligners, retainers, and attachment templates
FLEX Series

Multi-layer sheets

A composite sheet with rigid outer layers bonded to an elastic inner core. The result is a gentle, continuous force that stays comfortable to wear, plus far greater resistance to cracking — Maxflex measures roughly ten times the bending cycles before breakage compared with a leading competitor.

  • Gentle, continuous force for patient comfort
  • Around 10× the bending cycles before breakage
  • Resists delamination; holds clarity and stain resistance
  • For aligners, retainers, and night guards

Inside a FLEX sheet

A tri-layer structure

FLEX sheets are built from three bonded layers. Hard outer skins do the structural work; a soft elastic core does the comfort work.

Outer layers — hard material

The two rigid outer skins give the sheet stable, sustained corrective force and resist heat, staining, and moisture — so the appliance keeps its shape and its clarity through everyday use.

Inner layer — elastic core

The soft elastic core makes the sheet comfortable against the teeth, improves the torquing force applied during treatment, and allows easy insertion and removal — which also reduces wear on bonded attachments.

What you can make

Applications

One material family covers the core of a clear-aligner lab's output.

Clear aligners

Near-invisible aligners formed sequentially to move teeth.

Retainers

Post-treatment retainers that hold the corrected position.

Night guards

Thicker FLEX Dual Premium sheets for occlusal protection.

Attachment templates

Thin sheets for placing composite attachments accurately.

Why it performs

Tested performance characteristics

Maxflex publishes laboratory testing across the range. The headline findings:

Gentle, comfortable force

FLEX delivers the softest initial force in the range, easing the strain of putting aligners in and taking them out.

Strong force retention

FLEX Premium and MAX Premium hold their corrective force steadily through the day rather than dropping off quickly.

Heat resistance

Premium-grade sheets keep their shape far better than standard TPU when exposed to hot drinks, protecting the fit.

Stain resistance

Every grade resists discoloration from coffee, tea, red wine, and cola in extended soak testing.

Resilience

FLEX Premium springs back fully and quickly after repeated twisting and flexing.

Durability

The multi-layer FLEX construction resists cracking many times longer than conventional single-layer sheets.
